Cool.

Just makin sure I wasn't wasting my time doin this.

I am neither optimist nor pessimist. I am what I like to call a realist. I don't like to spin reality with false hope or sadness. It is like it is...some things in life just suck. They do happen for a reason. Everything happens for a reason. We don't even need to know the reason. [although it is cool when we find out and everything starts to make sense] Our plans for our lives have no real point. We are here for a purpose and everything else in life is just a distraction. Well, not everything. But you know what I mean. We put too much worth in the stupid things we do every day. Too much worth in stuff. I watch people at car shows with the signs that say Keep Off! or Don't Touch and laugh. It's just a freakin hunk of metal that you shined up all pretty. You can always shine it again. And as far as the "My car's faster than your car" thing goes, there is always someone faster. I always used to dream of building the fastest street legal car in the world, but then I realized what a waste of time it would be. All to just feed my pride, which I have too much of anyway. I have found that if you have realistic expectations, you are not often disappointed with what happens. Granted you may not like what happens, but it happens for a reason, so shut up. Think about someone else for once. For those of you who were at the green room tonight, do what Grant said. Listen! It's not that hard. Try and really pay attention to somebody. Don't think about what you're gonna say while they're talking. Let them just talk. Don't put your opinion in there. Just shut up and listen. Like really listen too, not just with your ears, but with your eyes too. Watch their body language, their expressions, their eyes. You'll understand so much more about them. It's really cool. Plus it makes the person you're listening to feel special. And who doesn't like feeling special?
