You know what's fun? Home theater. I'm workin on one. My parents finally are ok with me having a TV. [I got one for free from my neighbor awhile ago, and my parents were upset for awhile...they seem to be ok with it now tho] So I'm working on building a sweet home theater. One that Tommy'd be proud of. Who's Tommy? Ask Dan. It's Paul's dad. Tommy Rosenkranz. He's awesome. And he knows good sound. I gotta get some more speakers and stuff. Ed gave me some amps and preamps and stuff and I found the specs. These amps are amazing! They're from the 70's, but they're still going for 180$ on ebay! I still haven't put them though thorough testing yet, but apparantly they put out 250 watts per channel! And I have 2 of these amps! That means 1000 watts of 4 channel goodness. And apparantly these are really warm sounding and accurate amps, too! What a deal! Now all I need is a few more speakers, a sub, a surround decoder, and a DVD player. I could just use my ps2 as a DVD player. It has an optical out on the back. It's pretty sweet. And a crossover or graphic EQ would improve the situation greatly. In any case, I'm excited. Also, I have my new car! That's exciting. It still needs some work, I gotta get some parts tomorrow. It needs new points, and new voltage regulator to keep it charging steadily. That should make it happier. [and me happier in the process] I'm still really happy with it. I read up the specs. I was wrong before. In it's stock form, it had 350hp. Now it has dual exhaust from the manifold back, and the stock, non-HP 440 with dual exhaust had 360hp [I think], so that's what it should be at now. [assuming it was tuned properly] I'm still working on that part. My neighbor [the guy who I bought it from] is teaching me how to work on old cars. It's pretty sweet. He's a cool guy. The car's already pretty sweet. It's got good power. The kickdown needs to be adjusted...it doesn't like downshifing when you jump on it. In fact, it doesn't downshift at all. But when you jump on it while it's still in first, it really goes. Still needs work. But it's still awesome. I was gonna have it today at church, but I wasn't sure if it would make it. As soon as I replace the points, it should run a bunch better. Owell, enough car talk. Movie talk now. Yesterday night, Greg came over and we sat in my room and watched Man on Fire and Walking Tall. They were both pretty good. Man on Fire was better. Walking Tall was your typical action movie, except there was more fistfight violence than shooting. It had a semi-good moral standing I think...cept for the vengance is ok part. It was better than most action movies in the moral part, I think. Man on Fire is another vengance movie, but it had more suspense and stuff. And it was kinda sad at the beginning/middle. Walking Tall more made me mad at the injustices. I think that was the point. Or something. posted by dave @ 10:31 PM |
